Website frustrations?

It seems that most of the emails and calls I get are not about the program per se, but with problems people are having either logging into or downloading files from the website. I know this must be incredibly frustrating for folks! Please know that though we’re happy to help however we can, we can’t do much to fix any bugs because the website itself is hosted by Church Publishing. I am hoping to coordinate with their tech person soon to resolve some of these issues.

Here are the most common issues I’ve heard about and solutions and suggestions we have tried. Again, if nothing works for you, please simply contact me directly at laura@confirmnotconform.com and we’ll get you whatever you need.

The thing that’s most frustrating on our end is this is supposed to be MORE CONVENIENT for you! We are so sorry that this is causing so much struggle. Of course, we haven’t heard from those of you for whom this is working just fine. If it is, well, YAY! That’s the way it’s supposed to be.

Whatever your experience, we would still like your feedback on how we make the website a more accessible portal.

OK, here’s the List o’ Frustration.

1. I got my password and tried to log in, but couldn’t. The password is connected to an email address. Make sure you’re using the right email address for the login name. Also know that the login name is case sensitive; sometimes the customer service reps have entered the email address in ALL CAPS, so give that a try.
2. I lost/forgot my password and when I asked for a new one, nothing got sent to me. Check your spam filter to see if it ended up there. If not, contact us directly and we’ll contact the tech person at Church Publishing to reset your password. Which is incredibly round-about, I know. We’re not happy about it either.
3. I have my login and password but can’t open the website. This one has me stymied. The only thing I can think of is, if you’re on a page that’s not the homepage when you log in, you aren’t automatically directed to Your Account page. You can get there by clicking Your Account in the upper right hand corner of the website. If you are having this problem, please contact us so we can understand better what is going on.
4. When I download Word documents, they come out scrambled. I don’t know if this is a tech compatibility issue or what. I’m sorry to say that the best solution has been trying another computer. The easier solution is, let me know and I will email you the documents.

Again, we can’t tell you how sorry we are that the website is causing people so much frustration. We will continue to work with Church Publishing to make the CnC website more user-friendly. The last thing we want is for you to spend your time worrying about the website rather than getting ready for your class.
